Four Winns® Boat History
The story of Four Winns® boats begins in 1975 when a man named John Winn purchased a small boat company from one of his friends. Winn hoped to utilize his previous experience working in the boat manufacturing industry to help craft boats that customers would love. Soon, John brought his father Bill Winn Sr. and his brothers Charlie Winn and Bill Winn Jr. into the business. With that, the name Four Winns was born. Michigan’s many lakes served as a testing ground for the company’s early models. Though the family suffered bankruptcy when the Four Winns facilities were lost in a fire in 1978, the Winns persevered, securing the loans and supplier deals necessary to keep the company going. The end of the 1980s saw a string of success that continues to this day.
